Our Last Day in Olympia

Posted on:

Our 3rd day in Olympia was all about archeology and technology. The morning started with a visit to the Olympian museum where students saw recreations of the Olympic site and many of the treasures found in the excavations.

The afternoon was for a little down time at the pool and an amazing Greek buffet lunch. And, the late afternoon we spent being amazed at the Archimedes museum where the owner of this tiny science museum showed us various inventions from the ancient world, including a security alarm, wine vending machine, the model of a crane that built the Parthenon, and a vacuum pressured water fountain. It is very eye opening to see these inventions knowing they were created over 2000 years ago. This is our last day in Olympia. Our next stop is Delphi, in the morning then Santorini.
